Kid Birthday Party -- Craft Factory

Ruby asked for another doll cake for her kid party.  Nanny Rach was able to French braid the hair and make a crown.  All the kids (especially the little girls) loved it.

Tried to get a good photo with Nanny Rach, but they were too wound up to handle a photo-op!

Before we left their house for the party, Carson had to show me the Lego set I had given him the night before -- already made! 

 

And Ruby wanted her nails painted with gold polish because it was their GOLDEN B.DAY.  

 

Carson had requested that Grandma Carrie make "gluten free, banana, chocolate chip cupcakes, so Braden can eat them".  Some of the children at their school are gluten-free and I thought it was very thoughtful of Cars to request that.

The Craft Factory -- great place for a kid's birthday party.  



 

The two party-ladies were trying to get their attention so they could give out instructions.  Each child was able to decorate one craft item, using dozens of items to glue on.  

 

Ruby is distracted by, and admiring Sloan's newly pieced ears -- although even though she was admiring them, she said "I don't want my ears pieced.  I want to be like Aunt Lindsey"

Time for instructions. 

 

There were two long tables and we think there were 24 children there, but hard to count with so many and a few siblings that hung out with their parents. 

This was the BEST part -- learning how to use the hot glue guns!  (they are supposed to be more kid-friendly, and not too hot).  There is an electrical strip down the middle of each table.  Using those glue guns was definitely a huge HIT! 

Carson was really paying attention to how he could get his hands on a REAL GLUE GUN! 

 

Then each child was given a blue pail and sent off to select whatever they wanted to glue on to their chosen project.  Ruby picked out a bird house.    Carson chose a big "T", for the Timbers Soccer Team.

Then it was back to the tables to begin the gluing on process.  

 

Many of the boys made robots -- like Taj who is right next to Ruby. 

The kids on either side of Carson are using some kind of paint in a tube that dries very quickly. 

 

I saw lots of concentration-tongues, like on Carson.  

 

And there's Ruby concentrating.  

 

I loved that Ruby put feathers on her birdhouse -- and jewels of course! 

Taj glued army men all over his robot.  

At one point Nanny Rach went over to ask Carson how he was doing and his response was

 "I can't talk right now.  I'm too busy!"

Then it was time for the singing, blowing and eating.

Iris and Khaki rode home with Kristin and Ruby -- such fun to have 3 girls in the backseat. 

Family Birthday Dinner Party Celebration

The family gathered at Grandpa Ray's and Grandma Carrie's for a time of celebrating the twins turning 6.  Here Ruby is taking a moment to love on her Grandpa. 

 

 

Of course we all had to see how the kids had just learned to ride their bikes.  True to form -- Carson does everything F-A-S-T!  Sure wish he had on protective gear!  But he was off and riding, fast!

 

The loving family all watched on with delight, as Casey ran along side Ru and Grandpa Ray tried to keep up with Carson.  

You can tell she is concentrating, by the tongue!  Ruby was so very proud of her accomplishment!  The week before Carson got it, but it took her a bit longer.

Nanny Rach wouldn't miss their b.day for anything.  She flew down after attending class all day Sat., just so she could share in the love-fest.  She gave the kids books, but also made an effort to wrap the gifts in just the right paper. 

 



 

Don't miss the face on Kristin. . . . Carson opened the gift from Cousin Megan and it was SEA MONKEYS.   "Mommy, what are sea monkeys?"   Wow, I don't really know.......  I guess we will learn. 

Auntie Steph hit the jackpot, quite a few times.  This book was the exact book the kids presented to their school for their birthdays  (the school has a tradition of each child giving the school a new book on their b.days).  Since Kristin was out of town on business and forgot to get a special book, the kids grabbed one of their own and it was this exact book.  Their daddy had promised to get them a new one, but now he doesn't have to.  Ruby was delighted at Auntie Steph's selection. 

 

Thanks to Auntie Steph, Carson doesn't have to ride home shirtless (his had gotten wet).
