Random Kid Fun

Went to Costco with Kristin and the kids. They were so enthralled at the activity and busyness of the store. Ruby said hi to everyone. Two different older ladies asked if they were twins and said how nice it was to have one of each. Both of those ladies had twin boys. They told Kristin "it gets easier!" (thank you God)
Santa-Grammy couldn't wait and gave the kids the little people farm that was suppose to be for Christmas. Boy, did they love it. I have such fond memories of all the little people sets that my girls had -- and wished I never sold them at a yard sale! Those vintage sets are expensive on
E-Bay!
"Thank you Grubers for my cute ROXY sweatshirt! I love it"

GO BEAVES!

Casey and his family are very faithful Oregon State University BEAVER fans. On game day they proudly wear orange. Carrie just got Ruby this cute Beaver-Spirit dress, and Carson has lots of orange shirts. Ray and Carrie were even attending the game on Saturday where they crushed the University of Washington Huskies.

A Day With Miss Emma

My niece, Megan and her husband went to Maui for a week, leaving 13 month old Miss Emma with her Papa and Nana. I offered to come over one day and help Stephanie take care of Emma, since I know how exhausting it can be to care for a toddler. I had not seen Emma for several months, but she took to me right a way. But she REALLY took to Snowy. Emma's word for dog is "oof". That's woof without the "w". She was so pleased to get up from her nap and find an "oof" on the deck right next to the big window. Emma took her stuffed oof over to the window to see the big white oof that moved!
I taught Emma how to go up the stairs. At first she didn't know how and didn't move. After working with her, she went right up with no problems.
I took Emma for a walk in her koala bear jacket (see the ears!) She enjoyed seeing all the "pums" on the front porches (pumpkins) and the leaves.

Kat's Carved Pumpkin

Years ago Kat figured out how to make a jack-o-lantern a bit differently. No more triangle eyes........ This year she carved Tinkerbell for the two little girls who she nannies for. I wanted to share her creativity with you.
"Way to go Katharine!"

Pumpkin Time

Can you spy Carson in the pumpkin patch? This is one of their neighbor's that planted some seeds in the front and they really really grew! Carson was fascinated with the big orange balls and wanted to pat each one.

Fun with the Kids

When we first put the twins in this wagon, they would not sit down, so it took two of us to wheel them around -- one to pull and one to watch over them. Now that they are older, their understanding is kicking in and they seem to get "sit on your bottom!" They LOVED being wheeled around their cul-de-sac in Daddy's wagon.
Little man LOVES books -- actually they both do. They will bring you as many books as you have the patience to read to them -- and usually it's the same book, over and over again.
These Santa Cruz t-shirts were a gift from our dear friend, Gretchen.
"Thank you Gretchie and fam" Oh my, do these kids LOVE to watch Wonder Pets on TV. Kristin doesn't let them watch too much TV, but sometimes, when they are both really fussy and it's been a long day, I resort to turning on Wonder Pets. As you see, they are mesmerized! Sure hope Carson stops drooling soon. He is still trying to break through his molars. Little Sis has four molars, and he just drools! Where's your belly button Ruby?

Such a BIG BOY!

Kristin and I took the twins for a walk around their neighborhood and the kids enjoyed seeing all the other kids playing, and they joined right in (the best they could for being only 16 months old).Carson loved this little feet-propelled car and looked like such a BIG BOY in it.

Emma Turns One

Miss Emma Christine celebrated her first birthday Sept. 17. Her mommy (my niece Megan) had her all dressed up as a ladybug for the party and that theme carried through to the cupcakes as well. HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY LITTLE EMMA.

USE YOUR IMAGINATION!

I know that some of you only look at my pictures and don't read all the verbiage. That's OK. But on this posting you need to not only read, but you must use your imagination to really see this photo (that I wasn't present to take). It seems tonight when Casey took Carson upstairs to get ready for bed, Casey had a big problem that he shouted for Kristin to come help. Kristin thought maybe Carson was choking Casey from the sounds of his yells. Well, it seems that as Casey turned to grab a diaper wipe, Carson grabbed his REALLY poopy diaper and pulled it right up and over his face and head before Casey knew what hit him! Now, you can use your imagination ............... Kristin said it included ears, nose, hair, etc, and Carson was screaming mad! Let's just say, it took a shower to get him clean. And I was no where near to take a photo!

Classic Carson

OH MY GOSH! Carson is using his rocking horse (that's right ROCKING HORSE) as a surfboard. Kristin said "He has a great sense of balance!" Let's hope the horse doesn't start rocking
"If I could just get the gum off the bottom of
my new shoe, I could blow a really big bubble!"

Banana Time

This morning I gave the kids each 1/2 of a banana. instead of cutting into small pieces. Ruby laughed at it and had a look of wonder before she took a bite, and Carson shoved it all in his mouth at once. I took it out and cut it in 1/2 long wise and he proceeded to make it disappear.

Making Music Together!

Casey has a new musical instrument that he enjoys playing!

Random Fun Shots

"Yo, Grandpa Willy. I didn't know you
liked to wear your hat like me!"
Grandpa Bill and Ruby are watching "Little Einsteins" together.
He was as fascinated at the show as she was -- since it
was his first time to view it. That's a real step up from
the Sesame Street that our girls watched!
Carson is so good with building things. He loves this
little boat with blocks.
Thanks Cousin Megan for this really cute shirt. My brother
was wearing his, too, but wasn't still enough to
get in a picture.

HOOD TO COAST RELAY RACE

With her team at their final destination -- the coast.
Yeah, they all made it!
This was Kristin's second year to participate in the
197 mileHood-To-Coast Relay Race. She was with a team of 12
employees from Adidas, in 2 separate vans.
They started Friday morning at the top of Mt. Hood,
and finished Saturday afternoon at Seaside Beach.
Kristin felt good about the 3 legs of the race that she ran.
WE ARE PROUD OF YOU KRISTIN JOY!

Grandpa Bill Has B.O.B. Envy!

Boy, would Bill have LOVED a B.O.B. stroller when our girls were babies! He used
to run all over Gordon College campus with Kristin
on his shoulders! This was the first time he went with me
on a walk to the school, and he saw how easy and fun it is to
take the twins for a walk with B.O.B.
Here is Ruby tasting a long strand of grass! She put it in her
mouth just as I clicked the picture. I hadn't intended
to get a picture of her munching grass!
Now Bill understands why I take the kids to the local elementary
school grounds, instead of the park when I'm alone with them......
I can keep them in!
Carson was fascinated with the lines that had been painted on the
soccer field. He walked on them, then he ran after me
as I went all over the field.

The Unicorn Sings!

Ruby got this Rocking Unicorn in June for her first birthday. This past week while I was there, I learned that it sang. This was early one morning before anyone else was up. She was having such fun rocking and laughing and before the day was over, she learned to squeeze the ear herself to make it sing.

Yummy Strawberries From Dad's Garden -- Shhhh

Casey had just picked some strawberries from his garden and must have put the bowl down in a location that little man could reach. Carson got real quiet, and when they found him, he had eaten ALL the strawberries that were picked! I think he was trying to deny it -- but the face says it all!
(The kids had been in the kiddie pool outside, hence no clothes!)

Carson and Ruby's Newest Playmate

Nik and Stacie (Kristin's BFF) welcomed their first child.
Chase Jamison was born into the world on Thursday August 13th at 4:21 pm.
He weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 21 inches long.
"He is absolutely perfect and we are completely in love!"
says Stacie, and I agree!
