First Spaghetti

Kristin made healthy rice spaghetti noodles for the babies for their first taste of pasta. They had fun trying to eat it, and Sonny had fun cleaning up the floor when they were done! I'm sure it will be much more fun when she allows them to have the sauce with meatballs!

Backyard Fun!

With the weather getting hotter, the twins are enjoying their backyard pool! Carson does his usual, crawl in, crawl out, etc. He even figured out how to let the plug out and drain the water!

Hiding Spot

Hi Auntie Kat. I bet you wish you were
small again so you could get under the table with me!

These two love to crawl under the end tables and play like it's their fort.
It is so cute to see one get under and give the other one a look that you
know is saying "hey, come join me!"

Mihoko and Yui

Here is a recent picture of Mihoko and her baby girl, Yui. Mihoko is our "Japanese niece", having lived with Bill's brother and family for 6 years. Her daughter is just a few days younger than our
niece Megan's, daughter, Emma.

I'm Almost One

Ruby is practicing for June 6th

when they turn one year old!

Just Chillin'

Kristin sent me these two pictures from her cell phone. In the top one you
can see that Ruby is still bigger than Carson. I think he burns off
most of his calories from all his activity.
In the photo below Ruby had not napped
ALLLLLLLL DAY!
Kristin took the babies over to Ray and Carrie's house thinking she would nap there because Casey was making hammering noises in the back yard.
But still no nap. This shot was taken as soon as they
got into the car to go home. She was exhausted
and dropped her head down in a most uncomfortable position and fell asleep!

Happy Mother's Day

I spent Mother's Day with Kristin as she celebrated her very first Mother's Day.
Hard to believe the twins turned 11 months old this week.

Wagon -- Hand Made With Love by Great-Grandpa Brown

Today we celebrated Mother's Day at Ray and Carrie's house (the other grandparents). After lunch Ray brought out this old wagon that Carrie's father had made for Casey when he was a little fellow. It even has "Casey Jones" stamped on the wood. Grandpa Ray pulled them around the yard and they thought they had gone to Disneyland! It's a really fun toy to have from their Daddy's childhood. Ruby even tasted the wood to see if it was still edible! "Thank you Grandpa Brown for making such a sturdy wagon 30 years ago!"

New Face-Front Carseats

The twins no longer have to see where they have been. They can see where they are going!

Faster Than A Speeding Carson

Carson has gotten so fast, I can hardly keep up with him. Having raised two daughters, I don't know what to do with this "little man". I tried to capture some of his speed in these videos. Carrie assures me that Casey was just as active at this age, and he really mellowed out with time!

Gated Community!

Since the babies are so mobile now, it has become very necessary to put up gates. While I was there this time, they got this gigantic gate to keep them in the livingroom, and not have free rein of downstairs. So far, they are prettty good about being in there.

My Sweet Babies

These little ones are growing so fast. I haven't seen them in almost 4 weeks, and from these photos, I can see they have grown and changed. Little Ruby is so much her Mommy. I see baby Kristin looking back at me! And Little Man is full of energy and curiosity. I will be going down next week and celebrating Mother's Day with Kristin on her very first Mother's Day. (I just learned how to take the photos that Kristin sends to me from her cell phone to mine, and put them on the blog!)

Pen Pals & Twins

One of my dearest friends, Laura, has a niece named Andrea. When Kristin and Andrea were young girls, they decided to become pen pals. Andrea lives in upstate New York and we lived in California at the time. They have remained in contact with each other over the years. Andrea's mother is an identical twin, and when Andrea became pregnant with her first child, she soon learned it was children. She gave birth to fraternal twin girls, Angelina and Aubrey. Maybe someday the two sets of twins and mommies can finally meet! Or maybe they will continue the pen pal tradition.

Happy Easter Fun (and more)

The twins' first Easter was spent at Grandma Carrie's and Grandpa Ray's house. A typical pacific northwest Easter -- cold and wet. Next year they will experience a hunt! Here they are enjoying an alfresco lunch (not on Easter Sunday)

Finding Nemo

One of the twins' favorite toys are these little clown fish that Grandpa Bill got for them. Since Carson doesn't have a pocket and it takes 2 hands to crawl really fast -- he does the next best thing with Nemo.
