Twice Blessed

Easter Sunday I had the kids at my house, but we got ready and went back to their house to get their parents and attend their church.

Then we went to Grandma Carrie's and Grandpa Ray's for the rest of the day. It was 76 degrees and so great to be outside. We enjoyed having our meal outside in the sunshine!

We had to have some BIG baskets for the ostrich size eggs I got for them!

Grandma Carrie gave them some last minute instructions before it was
"ready, set, GO!"

(The really really large eggs came in two colors -- blue and pink. They needed to know whose was whose! Grandma Carrie had put "R" and "C" on the small eggs to make sure they got an equal amount. We all thought Carson would bust out and find the eggs first.......we were wrong)

Their backyard is big and beautiful and perfect for an egg hunt!

Ruby found her first big egg in the tree. She looked at it (the top was clear plastic) and she giggled and said "Oh mommy! It's underwear. That's hilarious!"

(yes, it is true. This Easter Bunny is very practical, and since their mommy won't allow much candy, if any, I had to be creative. They needed new underwear in a larger size, so I found some at Costco. Princess for her and Lego--Star Wars for him. I'll have to say, they were a huge HIT!)

At first Little Man wasn't having much luck finding eggs. You can see that look on his face and the empty basket, while sister's is already full!

Then he, too, found his first BIG underwear-filled egg! He was a happy guy!

Grandpa Ray had to help get this one out of the tree.

Time to go through all their loot.

I also put a box of kids band aids in their giant eggs (princesses for her and cars for Cars).

Carson said "mommy, remember last week I had an awie. Can I put a band aid on it now?"

"No Buddy, it is already healed!"

They took out each pair of undies to show me and picked out their fav!

Who would have thought to put THAT in their Easter eggs!

Me, of course!

Kristin got to continue celebrating her 34th birthday with gifts inside from her wonderful in-laws. Ruby was right there to assist.

I can hardly believe Carson is still riding Pooh Car. My friend from church on Bainbridge Island gave it them when they were about 16 months old. He continues to ride it, even though his knees touch the ground. Now he knows how to spin wheelies and go real fast! Thanks again Cheri for the gift that keeps on giving! We swear he will take this car to college with him one day and ride it down the dorm hallways!

Casey had been sick with an ear and sinus infection, and crashed on the couch, in the midst of the party. Ruby gave him her softie to help him sleep better.
