Kristin, Casey, twins, Auntie Lindsey, Grandma Carrie and Grandpa Ray all enjoyed a week in Sunriver at a lovely vacation rental complete with bikes with a kid carrier and everything they could possibly want. The weather was in the 80's and they enjoyed swimming, fishing, biking and anything else you can do on vacation. Lots of "firsts" happened for Ruby and Carson and fun memories were made. Kristin, Lindsey and Casey all sent me photos and I tried to organize them into a fun vacation blog. (I like doing this because it becomes a pictorial history that the kids and others enjoy looking back at).

Carson rode the pony, but not Ruby! She wasn't ready for that adventure, yet!
I knew when Ray and Carrie got the twins fishing vests when they were only a few weeks old that they had a future in fish. This was their first time fishing and it was a hit. Would you believe, Grandpa Ray even cooked up the trout they caught so they could taste it for breakfast!

There was a community pool to enjoy each day. Carson was brave enough for the slide. It wasn't as fast as they thought. Grandma Carrie helped him get in and mommy was waiting to catch him at the bottom. He is somewhere in between! Ruby didn't want to have a thing to do with the water slide!

There were bikes at the rental house and one carrier. They actually rented another carrier so both Kristin and Casey could pull a kid to the park. The little kids LOVED it and the big kids got all the exercise
Ice cream is a big part of being on vacation. Love that goat-tee on Carson.
Lots of bar-b-ques and eating outside. Carson chowed down on the ribs (eating more than Kristin) I don't' blame him -- they look yummy, Casey.
Another first for the twins was sleeping in a big bed -- together! Their pediatrician told Kristin and Casey to keep multiples in a crib for as long as possible because it is so much easier. So at home they are still in cribs. (both of them have fallen out of the crib at one time or another, and they know that trying to climb out can be painful). Therefore, they have the mentality of when they wake up, they call (or holler) for someone to come get them. Well, in the big bed where they could very easily gotten out by themselves, they both called and waited for someone to come get them. (I love it!)
In the bathroom was a lovely decorative bowl of pine cones. Carson, who got his words mixed up asked his mommy "Why are those raccoons in the house?" She told him they were pine cones and there were there for decoration to which he said "Mommy, that's really silly. They belong outside!"
On the way driving home Ruby said "Mommy there is a donkey bus!" "Look they are peeking out the windows at me." Kristin and Casey were laughing so hard. It was a horse trailer and you could see their big horse eyes looking through the windows.
Yesterday was the first step in getting big kids beds. Casey took the front side off the cribs. Both kids were so excited to have something different. They both stayed put in the beds and didn't get out. I snuck in while they were sleeping and took these pictures. The flash didn't wake them up!
At 6:15 AM I peeked in at Ruby and she was sitting up in the bed, so I clicked a picture. It was dark in her room and I didn't realize her eyes were shut. She was awake, but still didn't get out of the bed by herself.
Carson enjoyed a book in bed in the morning.
