Portland Children's Museum

Bill and I drove down to Kristin's to take care of the twins while she and Casey flew to Florida to a wedding. (a much needed break and rest for the two of them). Today we went to the most wonderful Children's Museum and had a great time. Bill stayed with Ruby while I followed little man around -- hence most of the photos are Carson since I had the camera. Here Bill and Ru are doing an art project -- Carson was helping the rather large alligator brush his HUGE pearly whites. Carson was very much into this task. Hard-Hat-Pete (or rather Carson). This is the building room. Carson loved the hat, but it was so big on his little head. Note the carpenter's belt around him, with piping in it.

Carson was more fascinated with the rocks in the bottom of the tank, then he was the fish. I think he wanted to throw them.

We spent a long time in the grocery store room. He shopped, checked out and even worked in unison with a sweet little girl-checker. By the way -- he had every jar of peanut butter he could find in his cart~

The water-works room. Such fun. He didn't want to leave.

And the train room was the biggest hit -- the one that caused him to really fuss when it was time to leave. He LOVES trains. You can see such concentration on his face. I reminded him we have a train set at home to play with, and he was OK with that.

Saturday Morning Fun!

Ruby noticed that Casey cut his hair this morning. She is so observant! You will see them are all dressed in orange BEAVER shirts, in honor of the Oregon State University football game today! (Go Beavs!) I made the kids a tunnel today and they had loads of fun crawling through it. It was even more fun when I gave them each a flashlight, and turned off all the lights in the living room.

Ruby was making a tunnel out of a toilet roll for her small race cars. This train table was loaned to them and it has been a HUGE hit.

Kristin let me download these pictures from her camera from Halloween. Carson was an elephant (that's his trunk on his hoodie!) Ruby was a kitty cat. They got a kick out of knocking on doors and saying "trick or treat". (Although they didn't get to eat much of that candy!)

Another Fun Fall Day Outside

Today was another gorgeous fall day. Ruby wanted to take her babies for a walk and Carson wanted to ride his "Pooh-car". He went fast, fast, fast, and she gently strolled her babies. Such a difference between boys and girls!

Ruby was enjoying sitting on this "toadstool", but you can see Carson wanted to get on too. He decided to try and get on top of the other larger one. Eventually he gave up and harassed her till she got off the smaller one. She even tried moving over and sharing it with him, but Carson wanted it all to himself. Lucky for him (and all of us), his sister is mostly easy going and doesn't put up much of a fight. Can't even imagine what life would be like with two Carsons!

Carson's pants were a bit too long today. I rolled up the cuffs, but as he played they came down. You can see that he improvised himself. In the second picture you can see Ruby in the background and she was sad that she had on boots and couldn't roll up her pants too.

Treats after Naptime

I told the kids they could have homemade (healthy) popsicles after they got up from naps, and that was the first thing they asked for (good memories). They loved them.

Gathering Fall Leaves

There are some beautiful trees in front of Kristin and Casey's home, so the kids and I decided to gather some of the leaves in the wheel barrel. "I like the ones that are still on the tree!"

Gorgeous Fall Day

It was a glorious day today -- about 70 sunshiny degrees. The kids and I had fun playing in the front. When they saw I put on my sunglasses, they both insisted I get their glasses, too. "Ruby, can grandma help you put the glasses back on?" "No, I can do it myself!"

(Ruby was putting stickers all over her arm. When Kristin asked her what she was doing, her response surprised us! Kristin says she didn't teach her that word. )
