Cake Time

Gamma Carrie made two carrot cakes for the kids. They didn't quite get blowing out the candles and Ruby got real shy when everyone was singing "Happy Birthday To You". But they sure enjoyed eating that cake, and especially the frosting. Carson sat in a chair like a little man, eating his whole piece.

Friends

Auntie Lindsey having fun with chalk and stickers. The kids were putting stickers on everyone. Odessa "Odie" was having such fun running all over the backyard with her Daddy and playing on the slide with Emma. (Odie's big sister Memphis was off waiting for the cake to be cut!) If you look back at the one year old party, you will see Kristin's friend, Stacie who was great with child. Here she is with baby Chase and her husband. Next year Chase will be running with the rest of the gang.

Bird House

Carson was fascinated with the "house". He took Ruby across the bridge to show her. Isn't Ray and Carrie's yard lovely?

New Play Structure From Gamma Carrie and Papa Ray

This is the castle/fort/slide that Gamma Carrie and Papa Ray gave the kids. It was a HUGE hit at the party. Here Cousin Emma is playing with Ruby on top -- steering the wheel.

Grandma Carrie's Garden

Grandma Carrie's garden is enviable! Here the kids are checking out the strawberry patch. Ruby found one that was almost red and ate it, stem and all!

Family Photos Before Birthday Party Started

The Lord gave us a gorgeous day in the high 70's on June 5th. You will see that in all of the birthday photos. (On June 4th it rained and on June 6th is poured!) Casey's parents hosted the twins' second birthday party with family and a few friends. For their first birthday Kristin invited practically everyone they knew, but this year she wanted it more low-key. It was a wonderful day with some fun memories made. (remember you can click on the photos to enlarge them)

New Garbage Truck For Carson

Carson LOVED playing with Cousin Emma's truck on Mother's Day, so I knew I had to find one for him. I had it waiting on the table when first got up in the morning and he was delighted. Luckily that morning Carson was up before Ruby! He played with it ALL day, and even when he wasn't playing with it I would hear his talking about it. I loved seeing him at play and knowing how to make it work.

Ruby Do It - Carson Do It

Ruby and Carson have learned how to make the many straps that secure them (highchair, stroller, car seat, etc) click into place. They both want to "do it"! Kristin caught them both clicking the straps together on their high chairs after she took them out. Look at that concentration!

Shadow Play

Ruby was fascinated with this new attraction on her wall. She played with it for a while, then I decided to grab my camera. In attempting to teach the twins how to hold up two when you ask them how old they are, I realized it would be much easier to hold up two pointer fingers. That is what she is doing here.

Puzzle Time

The kids are getting very good at puzzles and really enjoy working on them -- again and again and again! They must have done this one puzzle 20 times in one day, with me helping. (yes, it got old for me!) Carson seems to have the concepts better -- finding the colors and shapes that match. Ruby just enjoys trying and getting it right. Carson will become impatient with her and take the piece and put it in, when I'm not there to supervise.
