Thanksgiving at Grammy's House

It's so great to have a son-in-law who knows his way around a turkey. Casey did a great job of carving. Kristin contributed a wonderful roasted brussel spout recipe (yes, I said brussel sprouts!)
Ruby enjoying one of Grammy's home made Parkerhouse rolls. Yummy!

Cute Carson Story -- Going Down Stairs Backwards!

Having a 2 story house, it was important to teach the kids how to go downstairs backwards. Carson has taken it to a new level. When he knows he is going to go downstairs, he will get down on all fours and turn around backwards -- about 5 FEET before he gets to the stairs, and starts crawling backwards towards the stairs. It's the funniest thing to see. Sweet boy! Smart boy!

Portland Children's Museum

This is the WATER ROOM, and boy does it have a lot of water-fun. They offer these red smocks for the children to wear in an attempt to keep them dry! Carson cried when it was time to visit another room. He was grooving on the wetness!
This was the GROCERY STORE room and Carson had so much fun filling his cart. At first he thought the apple was real and he sat right down on his bottom, like his mommy taught him when it gets a snack. I had to take the apple away before he tried to bite it!
Ruby picked these flowers right up and sniffed. I was impressed with her ability to put them back into a hole about the size of a dime. This was the Clifford The Red Dog area with lots of fun things, including this garden area.
Fun on the water bed! Wheeeeeeeee........
This tube was full of jingle bells and was such fun to rock back and forth.
The fish tank was a huge favorite. Here Ruby is looking at it from the kelp-side.
Carson is on the other side, pointing to fish and the bubbles at the top of the aquarium.
Carson loved the floor to ceiling mirror and tried to play ball with the little boy with the pink ball that he saw in the mirror!
I turned my back to check on Ruby (KJ had gone to the restroom so I had both to watch!) and little man just walked right down the slide -- and never fell! Of course everything is well padded, but he was fearless.
Ruby was having fun with this structure!

Random Kid Fun

Went to Costco with Kristin and the kids. They were so enthralled at the activity and busyness of the store. Ruby said hi to everyone. Two different older ladies asked if they were twins and said how nice it was to have one of each. Both of those ladies had twin boys. They told Kristin "it gets easier!" (thank you God)
Santa-Grammy couldn't wait and gave the kids the little people farm that was suppose to be for Christmas. Boy, did they love it. I have such fond memories of all the little people sets that my girls had -- and wished I never sold them at a yard sale! Those vintage sets are expensive on
E-Bay!
"Thank you Grubers for my cute ROXY sweatshirt! I love it"

GO BEAVES!

Casey and his family are very faithful Oregon State University BEAVER fans. On game day they proudly wear orange. Carrie just got Ruby this cute Beaver-Spirit dress, and Carson has lots of orange shirts. Ray and Carrie were even attending the game on Saturday where they crushed the University of Washington Huskies.

A Day With Miss Emma

My niece, Megan and her husband went to Maui for a week, leaving 13 month old Miss Emma with her Papa and Nana. I offered to come over one day and help Stephanie take care of Emma, since I know how exhausting it can be to care for a toddler. I had not seen Emma for several months, but she took to me right a way. But she REALLY took to Snowy. Emma's word for dog is "oof". That's woof without the "w". She was so pleased to get up from her nap and find an "oof" on the deck right next to the big window. Emma took her stuffed oof over to the window to see the big white oof that moved!
I taught Emma how to go up the stairs. At first she didn't know how and didn't move. After working with her, she went right up with no problems.
I took Emma for a walk in her koala bear jacket (see the ears!) She enjoyed seeing all the "pums" on the front porches (pumpkins) and the leaves.

San Fran 1/2 Marathon

Today Kristin and her friend, Katie, ran in the San Francisco 1/2 marathon.
Here they are at the finish line --
"WAY TO GO LADIES"!
(Katie, is that a Nike hat you are wearing?)
