Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Brown

A visit with Great Grandpa and Great Grandma Brown (Grandma Carrie's folks).  I love that these kids will have memories of these dear people in their lives.

Ruby thought it was hilarious that Great Grandpa Brown was combing her doll's hair!

I love how Great Grandpa has his Bible out on the table where he was sitting before the kids came.  A long legacy of Godly people in Carson and Ruby's lives.

A great photo op with Auntie Lindsey

I guess Great Grandpa is a tease -- and here he is interacting with Carson who is pretending his toy snake is biting GG Brown.

Eb & Bean Frozen Yogurt

Eb & Bean Frozen Yogurt
Carson and Ruby joined up with Iris and her family at the grand opening of a new frozen yogurt place near their house.  It was opened by one of their friend's mother from their school. Eban has been their pal at school for a few years.    The shop is named after Eban and his sister, Sabine.
 (hence Eb & Bean).
Kristin said it was really good, and so many fun toppings.  If you are in Portland, give it a try!

I love how Ruby gets this loving hold on her friends.  I thinks he has had lots of experience doing it with her bro!

And a couple of random photos -- love these kids even from the back side! I think Kristin was trying to take a picture of their ever-emerging independence!
Can anyone say "first grade"?
(hey Buddy, where are your shoes?)

Ruby working out, in style of course.  Her momma's daughter, all the way!

Sun River Fun

A quick trip to Sun River for the family during part of the week the kids were out of school.  They loved this hammock on the deck of the vacation house.

What could be better than a hammock with your favorite twin?

Lots of time spent lounging -- This was the back deck of their vacation house.

Don't miss the giant slides!

One day they went for a very long hike -- the kids did great.  This is an area where the volcanic rocks are all black -- that's snow left over from winter next to them.

WORLD CUP

This is one happy little boy --
his very own FIFA World Cup Soccer Ball!
Good thing his momma works for Adidas.

Carson has talked for a long time now about wanting to be a professional soccer player when he grows up.  Who knows?  I maybe watching him play soccer in the 2026 World Cup!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CASEY!

I COULDN'T ASK FOR A BETTER SON-IN-LAW!
LORD BLESS YOU TODAY AND ALWAYS.
(and, yes, I too think your b.day should be a national holiday!)

Ruby-isms

This morning Ruby asked her mother if she was going to tell their teachers today that she and Carson would not be at school tomorrow.
"Why won't you be going to school tomorrow?"
"Mommy, it's Daddy's birthday of course!"
(How sweet is that?  It must be a national holiday because her Daddy is having a b.day!)

The kids made bug catchers at Home Depot the other day.  Ruby actually caught a bug in hers.  This morning at breakfast, Kristin noticed Ruby wasn't eating.
 "What are you doing Rubes?"
"I'm feeding my banana to my bug!  He needs breakfast too!"

VERY FIRST BIKE RIDE (out of order)

This is the VERY first time Carson rode his bike without training wheels -- one week before their 6th birthday.  He seemed to catch on very quickly.  Ruby had more trouble, but when they got her a smaller bike, she caught on.

Kristin found this old picture of Carson who wasn't yet one, standing on top of his ROCKING horse.  She said "this is where it all began!"  (referring to his athletic abilities and fearlessness)

A Few Random, Out of Order, Too Cute To Leave Out, Photos

Random fun in the field next to Grandma Carrie's house.

Kite flying with Grandpa Ray on Father's Day

Selfie with the kids
(can you say "mini me?"  KJ and Ru's faces are identical!  Same mouth, same nose, same eyes)

Another great day in the field. . .  Memorial Day
(just before the haircut)

Ruby said she was putting her field fairies to bed.

Those clouds look ominous!
"Look out Ruby -- you might end up in Oz from the looks of those clouds!"

Megan's Girls

Recently I was up in Bellevue visiting family.  We went to Tacoma to enjoy a time with my niece Megan and her girls.  There was a big box in the yard and Emma asked me to get in the box with her.  She had a scepter and turned me into a toad.  (this child has such a great imagination)  Then she turned me into a prince, and the box was our royal carriage.

Little sis, Lydia, wanted to ride in the royal carriage as well.

Lydia grabbed the magic wand and started rapidly turning things into other things --  I became a chicken!

Megan is expecting her 3rd. daughter soon.  It was great spending time with them all.  Megan will have her hands full with 3 little imaginations running lose!

Lydia was pretending this was her castle and her Papa and I were crocodiles.  Then she turned me into a chicken.
