Banana Time

This morning I gave the kids each 1/2 of a banana. instead of cutting into small pieces. Ruby laughed at it and had a look of wonder before she took a bite, and Carson shoved it all in his mouth at once. I took it out and cut it in 1/2 long wise and he proceeded to make it disappear.

Making Music Together!

Casey has a new musical instrument that he enjoys playing!

Random Fun Shots

"Yo, Grandpa Willy. I didn't know you
liked to wear your hat like me!"
Grandpa Bill and Ruby are watching "Little Einsteins" together.
He was as fascinated at the show as she was -- since it
was his first time to view it. That's a real step up from
the Sesame Street that our girls watched!
Carson is so good with building things. He loves this
little boat with blocks.
Thanks Cousin Megan for this really cute shirt. My brother
was wearing his, too, but wasn't still enough to
get in a picture.

HOOD TO COAST RELAY RACE

With her team at their final destination -- the coast.
Yeah, they all made it!
This was Kristin's second year to participate in the
197 mileHood-To-Coast Relay Race. She was with a team of 12
employees from Adidas, in 2 separate vans.
They started Friday morning at the top of Mt. Hood,
and finished Saturday afternoon at Seaside Beach.
Kristin felt good about the 3 legs of the race that she ran.
WE ARE PROUD OF YOU KRISTIN JOY!

Grandpa Bill Has B.O.B. Envy!

Boy, would Bill have LOVED a B.O.B. stroller when our girls were babies! He used
to run all over Gordon College campus with Kristin
on his shoulders! This was the first time he went with me
on a walk to the school, and he saw how easy and fun it is to
take the twins for a walk with B.O.B.
Here is Ruby tasting a long strand of grass! She put it in her
mouth just as I clicked the picture. I hadn't intended
to get a picture of her munching grass!
Now Bill understands why I take the kids to the local elementary
school grounds, instead of the park when I'm alone with them......
I can keep them in!
Carson was fascinated with the lines that had been painted on the
soccer field. He walked on them, then he ran after me
as I went all over the field.

The Unicorn Sings!

Ruby got this Rocking Unicorn in June for her first birthday. This past week while I was there, I learned that it sang. This was early one morning before anyone else was up. She was having such fun rocking and laughing and before the day was over, she learned to squeeze the ear herself to make it sing.

Yummy Strawberries From Dad's Garden -- Shhhh

Casey had just picked some strawberries from his garden and must have put the bowl down in a location that little man could reach. Carson got real quiet, and when they found him, he had eaten ALL the strawberries that were picked! I think he was trying to deny it -- but the face says it all!
(The kids had been in the kiddie pool outside, hence no clothes!)

Carson and Ruby's Newest Playmate

Nik and Stacie (Kristin's BFF) welcomed their first child.
Chase Jamison was born into the world on Thursday August 13th at 4:21 pm.
He weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 21 inches long.
"He is absolutely perfect and we are completely in love!"
says Stacie, and I agree!

Sunday Afternoon In The Park

Parent's Night Out

Kristin and Casey enjoyed a wonderful night out while
I was there and attended a wedding of one
of Kristin's Nordstrom friends.
Allison's parents own a blueberry farm and
the wedding was held next to a lake on the farm.
Kristin said it was a truly a very special wedding
with lots of fresh flowers and fresh fruit,
plus catered Mexican food galore! All of
her Nordstrom friends were there, so it was a fun evening.
Such a lovely couple!

BIG SISTER KRISTIN

This tee-shirt was given to Kristin when Katharine was born. I saved it and gave it back to Kristin. When I was getting Ruby dressed, I found it in her dresser, so I put it on her. Kristin was 3 1/2 when it was given to her. Ruby is just 14 months! Ruby looks so much like little Kristin that Bill and I can hardly believe our eyes.

Enjoying The Deck

G.Ma and G.Pa Jones gave them this little bench
for their birthday. It's hard to get them both on it
at the same time for a photo!
Here you can see Ruby being naughty --
she is picking one of her Daddy's green tomatos!
This Ruby funny-face is something she started
doing and you will see it in lots
of her photos that I took on this trip.
I don't know where she came up with it!
They are watching their Daddy mow the lawn, and wishing they could help! (P.S. Kristin was standing right next to them. We don't allow them to stand on this bench without someone watching!)

Playing At The Local Elementary School

The kids really enjoy the freedom of running and playing on the local elementary school ball field. When I was there last week I took them to the school each day to run off some energy. When it was only me with them, it was difficult because they would take off in opposite directions -- as if they knew it would be hard for Grammy to catch them.
They kept coming back to the stroller where they could
find the left-over Cheerios they dropped.
Ruby was really grooving on the clover, and I'm sure managed to munch a few!
I had to get a picture of Ruby riding on Casey. This is how Bill
took Kristin all over Gordon College when we lived there. Kristin was
born while we were resident hall directors, so the college campus
was her backyard. Bill spent many hours carrying her this way!
In the video I love it when I asked Carson "Where's Ruby?", and he
turns and runs right back to her.

While we were at the school ground playing, Carson kept going toward an iron fence that was sloped down and we felt he could fall and hurt himself. No matter how many times we moved him, he went right back towards the fence. In an attempt to re-direct the little fellow, Casey scooped him up like a sack of potatoes and ran like crazy with him, and Carson was laughing up a storm. Listen to his laughter as Casey dashes across the grass.

Guess Where My Mommy Works????

Adidas!
Kristin got some samples of kid's clothes the other day.
Isn't this outfit darling? I actually got the hat when I
was in Calif. for Carson, but he doesn't like to wear them.
Ruby LOVES hats and will keep it on all day.
